HTX Swims Group Transitions

When considering placement of swimmers HTX Staff uses the following criteria to help guide and plan out a swimmers journey through our program.

Practice Attendance:

*Does the athlete meet the expected attendance percentage of their current training group?

*Is the swimmer "late" to practice, meet warm-ups, or team events?

*Do extra-curricular activities account for absences?

*Is the athlete injury-free?

Meet Performance:

Has the swimmer earned the required time standards for the group? Are they close?

*How is the athlete trending?

*Can the swimmer act normal in an abnormal situation?

*How does the athlete handle success and failure?

Practice Performance:

*Is the swimmer making the intervals most of the time in their current group?

*Does the athlete meet the entry requirements of the next group?

*How many times a week does the athlete get out in the middle of a set?

*Can the athlete train outside of their comfort zone?

*How is the athlete's dryland execution? *How coachable is the athlete?

*Does the athlete execute drills in a prescribed manner?

Process Performance:

*Can the athlete follow directions?

*Is the athlete able to implement change promptly?

*Does the athlete learn from their mistakes?

*How does the athlete treat training equipment?

*Is the athlete punctual?

*Is the athlete mindful of their goals?

*Can the athlete follow proper training and competition etiquette?

*Does the athlete show respect for teammates and coaches?
